Oh What an Organ!

Another photo from Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. This huge pipe organ was built by the Austin Organ Company of Hartford, Connecticut in March, 1894. It was the second instrument built using a system invented by John Austin and thus, is identified as an Austin Opus II. The organ is the only one of its kind left in the world.

  1. I'm a little behind in commenting, but wanted to tell you I've loved your church photos. I could have sat there for hours admiring the beauty of it (and of course snapping photos). Great job Jasia.
