Day 243, Tri State Regatta Day 2

What a difference a day makes. As the boats left St Joseph this morning they had gray skies, windy conditions, cool temps, and lots of waves.

Much as I hate to admit it, there was definitely an autumn feel to the air this day. The dense clouds and crisp winds did it.

Given the direction the boats were heading and the direction of the wind, this was going to be one very fast leg of the race.

I'm sure it was an exciting ride for those aboard these boats. The one on the left in this picture was a 67ft sailboat out of Chicago. The crew looked to be having a grand time.

Here is a line of them waiting for the starting gun to go off. It was an amazing sight!
